Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins!

We spent a full day carving pumpkins with our families. We had so much fun! Here are some pictures from the adventures:

Parker is very excited about "pumpas"

Tyler became the designated carver

Isaac, Julia and Cece cleaning out their pumpkins... Eeew!

Parker wanted to help his Aunt Cece out.

Pumpkin guts fight. He totally deserved that one!

Parker playing with Boots, that is the friendliest cat I've ever seen. He loves Parker and even lets Parker pick him up and carry him around, which he does all the time!

We can't even carve pumpkins with out our BYU pride shining through. Tyler was the amazing artist behind our Cosmo pumpkin and Jake and I worked on the Y pumpkin.

Parker loves Grandpa Milligan's BBQ ribs! Yum!

Jake and Tyler doing the dirty work.

Even my mom and dad wanted in on the fun.

Parker stirring up the pumpkin guts.

You probably can't tell that I really love Halloween can you? I already have two posts on the holiday and that probably won't be the last. It is such a fun holiday!

Pumpkin Patch

I love pumpkin patches. Growing up in California, my family went every year to Bishop's pumpkin farm in Wheatland, Ca. It was my favorite place in the whole world! And it had amazing food, carmel apples, cookies, etc... It brings back such happy memories and every fall I wish I could go back. So, I decided that I want pumpkin patches (even though I have yet to find one as cool as Bishop's) to be a family tradition of ours. Here are a few pictures from our pumpkin patch visit to Linder Farms this year.

The hay ride- it was too bright :)

Parker and Tyler showing off their pumpkin

"Don't worry Mom and Dad, I got these pumpkins!"

Couldn't get him to smile unfortunately.

It was so cute to see Parker get excited and toddle around looking at the pumpkins. He now points at the ones we brought home and says "Bumbin". Melts my heart!

After the pumpkin patch we watched another sad BYU game with my family and some of their friends. We still love out cougars!

Fall is my favorite season!!

It's been a while...

Well life is flying by and I've been so busy that my fun little hobbies like blogging have been neglected but today I'm being lazy and thought I would give brief update. Here are some random pictures over the last 2 months:

My Talented Husband

Our ward had a talent show and luckily I have a very talented husband to make up for my lack of talent. He and his friend Phil were the MC's for the night and they also performed a song. Tyler did an awesome job harmonizing and playing the guitar. We were so proud! Good job Babe!

Parker also got a chance to show off that night. Afterward we let all the little boys in the ward get up on stage and show off. It was pretty hilarious.

My future rockstar :)

College football has been a big part of our lives! BYU is doing well after an unfortunate loss to Florida state but we don't talk about that game. We have enjoyed watching lots of games with our friends the Dornons and the Stierers. And of course we always need a little rivalry with the Boise State fans. Here is Parker with his Cousin Peyton sporting their teams. (The shirts are way too big because they are hand-me-downs from my brother).

Touchdown!! Both boys know the sign for touchdown and if you say it they both but their arms up, I think Peyton was a little camera shy this time.

Lastly, Tyler has transformed his home "office" into a home recording studio. He has like 10 guitars and all the tech stuff for recording so he has been spending some time playing around in there. He had a few guys over to "jam" one night and Parker decided he wanted to join the band, so he drug his own little guitar in the room with them, sat down and started playing with them. I think it was one of Tyler's proudest moment as a father. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture but I did take this one later.

Anyway, that's about it. I have been working at St. Als for my clinicals and I have loved it! I have seen some really hard things that have made me so thankful for the Gospel and the Plan of Happiness- to know that when this life ends I will be with my family again and with my Heavenly Father. It has also made me so grateful for a wonderful husband who I know would sit by my bed and hold my hand if I were sick like some of the people I have seen. I'm also thankful for a healthy family! Watching people fight terminal illness, car accidents or even swine flu, brings a lot of things into perspective and I am thankful I know what this life is all about!
