Parker Douglas "Danger" Pooley joined our family last Sunday, July 20, 2008. He weighs 7 lbs 3oz and is 19 in long. Mommy was very lucky to have had a very easy delivery.... well as easy as delivering a child could possibly be. I woke Tyler up at 4:00 am on Sunday morning with my first contraction... I knew right away I was finally going into labor!! YAY! So we toughed it out for a couple hours at home and at 6:00am or so, Tyler got to "race" me to the hospital (that was the part he looked forward to most!) So we sped down Broadway to the hospital. After 7 hours of rough contractions, walking around the labor and delivery floor, and soaking in a jacuzzi bath, I finally got an epidural and from then on out... piece of cake! Parker pushed his way into the world at 4:48pm Sunday afternoon after only 20 minutes of pushing! Tyler was an awesome labor coach despite his uneasiness about everything. He kept me laughing through most of it, which is impressive, and let me squeeze his hand as hard as I could during those painful contractions. He did a really good job of taking care of me! I also had help from my mom and my sister who kept me calm and relaxed. Before I knew it, it was all over and I was holding the most beautiful baby boy I'd ever seen!
You think you couldn't possibly love your husband any more than you do... but when you see him hold your newborn son for the first time, it's a whole new level of loving someone! Not to mention the feeling of loving your child more than life itself! It really is a feeling you can't find anywhere outside of being a mother. I love it!

Our first week has gone by so fast! We are both sleep deprived but we've survived a whole seven days! Our first night home was a rough one... we didn't get any sleep! But since then, Parker is starting to sleep in chunks of 2-3 hours which makes our lives a lot better!
So far my favorite moments with Parker are in the morning when all three of us are awake in bed and Parker is content laying in Tyler's lap, looking around and making funny faces. For some reason he is really happy and content in the mornings while mom and dad are wishing they had a few more hours to sleep. But his little smiles and yawns and sighs make the long nights worth it!
Here is Parker with Grandpa Doug (Parker Douglas is named after Grandpa), Uncle Jake and Grandma Kerry. He is so lucky to have both Tyler's family and my family to love and spoil him!
Welcome Home Parker!

He is such a sweetie! I know what you mean about being more in love then you ever thought was possible and I took it to the extreme and when I was in the hospital I loved everyone! The nurses, the doctors! I was feeling the love!!! Congrats on you little angel! You are a wonderful mom!
What a cutie! Congratulations! I am so glad things went well for you delivery-wise. Just think, they say it gets easier with every child (at least that is what I am hoping for!) I am sure you are a fantastic mother! Enjoy that cute baby! (and try to get some sleep... I know it is so hard.)
Natalie, Parker is sooooo cute! I am so glad he is adjusting well to the "outside" world. Congratulations, over and over again.
