Just Another Good Day

Yesterday I had my first nursing rotation in the ER! I was scared to death but as soon as I got there something just came over me and I just went for it! I learned so much in just one shift. I started IV's, watched blood draws, gave a shot, cleaned a wound and then watched the Dr. stitch it up, ran blood and urine samples to the lab, learned how to hook up patients to EKG and heart monitors, assessed four patients and visited with the sweetest 100 year old man! It was a very tiring 8 hours but I fell in love with nursing all over again! I really enjoyed it.

My favorite part of the day however was late last night. Tyler and I watched a movie, I stayed up despite being exhausted! After the movie at about 11:30 Parker woke up! I was not very excited about this because I was finally going to get some sleep and he was now wide awake. But then Tyler got out his guitar and played and sang some "Lullabies" to us. He is so talented and Parker loves listening to his dad on the guitar, as do I! So I stayed up a little later and watched Parker listen so intently. I am so thankful for more of these little moments that bring me such happiness!

Six Months!

Our little boy is six months old as of Tuesday! We can't believe how fast time has flown by! But at the same time we can't remember life without him. He has made our family such a happy one!

How can you resist? Honestly?

Love!

This was our last free night together before the semester started again. I am having a very hard time leaving Parker to go to class and clinicals. I am praying it is all worth it. And we certainly miss Tyler the nights he is in class. But his schedule is better than last Fall and this is his last semester and he'll have his Master's in Business Administration! Woo hoo! We are so proud of him. Any way, we are so grateful for the past six months of joy we've been blessed with!

The Loves of my Life!

Have you ever had one of those moments where you thought life couldn't get any better and then some how it does for no real reason! Well these moments are becoming more and more frequent lately thanks to the two loves of my life. They manage to bring me smiles and squeeze in more joy than I thought possible. This is probably a little overkill on sappiness but I just love moments when you realize how blessed you are and that life just simply couldn't be any better than this:

This is what melted my heart! Aren't they cute?

Like father like son.

I love my boys!

Our New Year So Far

I have been a blogging slacker lately and I am almost positive it is because I have been so dedicated to my new year's resolutions such as play around with Parker and do nothing all day, let the dishes pile sky high by the sink, ignore the mountains of laundry in my room, etc. As you can see, those resolutions require a lot of hard work and will power so I haven't had time for much else! Ha ha! So to catch up here is our 2009 so far....

New Year's Eve: We had a nice holiday all to ourselves! We went to the RAM steakhouse which we weren't really impressed with considering how expensive it was but we had enough fun to make up for it!

Tyler semi-enjoying his steak but really enjoying his New Year's Eve with his family!

Little Parker was so well behaved! He sat next to me in the booth and read his BYU book and played with his toys and told us all kinds of stories. Our waitress actually came over after we got out food just to ask if she could hold him. Cute little bugger makes friends and admirers every where he goes!

He also loves drinking out of cups lately so we got him his own little cup of water to enjoy.

New Year's Day:
My aunt and uncle came down for the day from Twin Falls! We always have fun when they are around! Here are some fun pictures.

Parker enjoying his new boom box (Thanks Andrea!)

Chillin' with my uncle Doug.

Here are a few more fun pictures we've taken through out January.

Parker has come to love root beer as much as his dad. Here he is at Grandma and Grandpa's house trying desperately to get some. We give him a tiny sip every once in a while but he's usually just as thrilled to suck on the bottle.

Singing to his new love.... a root beer bottle.

Hanging out with his buddy Jack. They hadn't had a chance to play in a long time so they were excited to see each other.

And lastly, my boys trying to recover from a long weekend of Dad being sick! Poor Tyler had to go to the emergency room Sunday because he was so sick and had such terrible stomach pain. He is feeling better now but is still a little sleep deprived so the boys thought they'd catch some extra z's before Tyler had to go to work. Parker apparently wasn't as tired.

That is life in Pooley Paradise for January. Happy New Year's!

Oh and I just realized Parker is wearing the same shirt in most of these pictures... just a coincidence, I promise I did not make a resolution to see how long Parker could wear one outfit before I'd wash it!
